Singapore Dragon Boat Association, Myth in Shared Waters
A six-part dragon boat artwork series that brings Dragon Boat Festival traditions and Shaping Hearts artists onto the water.
Last updated 4 May 2026

Developed with the Singapore Dragon Boat Association, Myth in Shared Waters transforms six dragon boats into moving canvases of culture, storytelling and inclusion. Visual artist Foo Hui Wen worked with Shaping Hearts artists Alex Lim, Gary Chong and Sabrina Han to reinterpret Dragon Boat Festival traditions through motifs such as Qu Yuan, rice dumplings, five-coloured silk strings, fragrance pouches, sea animals and dragon scales. As the boats move across the water, the artworks become part of the rhythm of the race, carrying heritage and creative expression into a shared public celebration of teamwork and community.
