About Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped

Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), formerly known as Singapore Association for the Blind (SAB), is Singapore’s national voluntary welfare organisation for people with visual impairments. Founded in 1951, SAVH is affiliated with the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and is an approved Institution of a Public Character (IPC).
SAVH's vision and mission are to promote the needs, interests and aspirations of people who are visually handicapped, supporting them in acquiring new skills, achieving self-reliance and integrating confidently into society.
